Welcome to Mundane. Mundane is operated by Mundane Studio, registered at Blankenstraat 53A, 1018 RR Amsterdam, the Netherlands, under Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 99712458.

Mundane is an Amsterdam-based online shop offering vintage jewellery. These Terms and Conditions explain how orders, payments, delivery, returns, and use of our website are handled.

By browsing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions

  1. Mundane means the brand operating this website and selling vintage jewellery online.

  2. Customer means the person placing an order through the website.

  3. Consumer means a customer purchasing an item for personal use.

  4. Parties mean Mundane and the customer together.

2. Applicability

  1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases, orders, payments, deliveries, returns, and refunds handled by Mundane.

  2. By placing an order, the customer accepts these Terms and Conditions, including the shipping, return, refund, cookie, and privacy information provided on this website.

  3. Any arrangement that differs from these Terms and Conditions is only valid if Mundane has confirmed it in writing.

3. Products and Prices

  1. Mundane sells vintage jewellery. Because the items are vintage, they may show signs of age, wear, patina, small marks, or other minor imperfections.

  2. Before an item is listed, Mundane carefully checks, photographs, describes, and measures it.

  3. Product descriptions, photos, and measurements are provided as accurately as possible. Small differences in colour, size, or appearance may occur due to lighting, screen settings, or the vintage nature of the item.

  4. All prices are shown in euros. Shipping costs, import duties, taxes, and customs charges are not included unless clearly stated otherwise.

  5. Mundane may adjust prices or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, incorrectly priced, or listed by mistake.

4. Orders and Payment

  1. An order is confirmed once the customer has completed the checkout process and payment has been received.

  2. Mundane may refuse or cancel an order if payment is not completed, the item is no longer available, or there is an error in the product listing or price.

  3. If Mundane cancels an order after payment has been received, the customer will receive a refund.

5. Right of Withdrawal, Returns, and Refunds

  1. Natural vintage wear, patina, age-related marks, and imperfections that are visible in the photos or mentioned in the product description are not considered faults. 

  2. If an item arrives with a genuine fault that was not shown or described, the customer must contact Mundane within 48 hours of delivery at info@mundaneobjects.com, including photos and a short explanation of the issue.

  3. Consumers buying online have the legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days after receiving the item, without giving a reason, unless a legal exception applies.

  4. To use this right, the customer must contact Mundane within 14 days of receiving the item at info@mundaneobjects.com.

  5. After notifying Mundane of the withdrawal, the customer must return the item within 14 days.

  6. Returned items must be sent back in the same condition in which they were received, with the original packaging undamaged. Items must not be worn, altered, damaged, cleaned, or repaired.

  7. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service, as Mundane is not responsible for return packages that are lost or damaged in transit, especially if sent without insurance.

  8. Mundane reserves the right to wait until the returned item has been received before issuing a refund.

6. Delivery

  1. Orders are shipped to the delivery address provided by the customer at checkout.

  2. Orders are shipped from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, using tracked or insured delivery services where available.

  3. Any delivery times provided are estimates only. Actual delivery times may vary due to the courier, destination, customs process, or other circumstances outside Mundane’s control.

  4. A delivery delay does not automatically give the customer the right to compensation.

  5. Shipping costs, import duties, taxes, and customs charges are the customer’s responsibility, unless stated otherwise.

7. Cookies and Privacy

Mundane respects your privacy and may use cookies to keep the website working properly and to improve the browsing experience.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Essential cookies may be used for functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, payments, security, and general website functionality. Analytics or marketing cookies may only be used where this is allowed under applicable privacy laws.

Personal information collected through orders or contact forms is used to process orders, arrange shipping, communicate with customers, handle returns or customer service requests, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

9. Events Outside Our Control

Mundane is not responsible for delays or failure to fulfil obligations caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control. This may include courier delays, customs delays, strikes, natural events, technical issues, supplier issues, government actions, or similar events.

10. Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable Dutch consumer law.
